Mr Kakouris, tell us, how did you come up with the idea of opening this business, with this specific name? (Bleximo means A mess in Greek).
Because I grew up in the field of catering, my idea was to create something pretty original, with a unique style and its base in the city of Corinth. So I chose the beach Kalamia and my wish has now come true. The story behind the name has to do with a discussion I had with my wife, back when we were discussing the details about the place we would open. She asked about the things we would mix, the “mess” we would create, and that word stuck in my mind from then…
Tell us a few things about your cuisine.
Well, the best thing about our cuisine, which is exclusively based on Mediterranean flavors, is that everything we make, we make at the time, after our customer’s order. Only fresh ingredients are used, either from the sea or meat. There are also some special dishes you only get to understand their taste and quality, along with their great price, if you try them.
What would you recommend to a customer who would come for the first time?
We always ask him if he wants to try seafood or a dish with meat. If he asks for seafood, then he must taste the “saganaki” which is cooked with sheep feta cheese, juicy shrimps and a delicious sauce. If he wants to drink the Greek tsipouro, then we recommend the spicy saucage, one of our specialties, and of course our salads. We serve the “choriatiki” in a different way, in bread. We also serve the “Bleximo” salad, which is made with arugula, lola and cream cheese and is extremely tasty. Besides those, we do have rich meat varieties, with kebab, sausages and chicken fillet.
What about your wine list? What labels does it include?
We serve labels from known wine producers, but I do produce my own as well. Here, you will have the chance to taste delicious white, red and rose wine.
