Agios Stefanos has been the first settlement to get developed in tourism right after Hora due to its close proximity to the New Port of Mykonos in Tourlos area. The settlement is named after the church in honor of Saint Stefanos located up on the hill offering a great view to the sea and the settlement. Agios Stefanos in Mykonos is very popular not only for the hotels built on the hill offering a spectacular view to the port and Hora, but also for the protected from the strong winds beach. The beach of Agios Stefanos is, regardless the weather, not wavy at all so you can always enjoy your swimming here. By the lovely beach there are several restaurants serving both coffee and food.
Passing by the settlement of Agios Stefanos, there is Houlakia, an area which is not considered to be a settlement but it has some nice hotels and a great view to Tinos Island. Here you can also visit the “Armenistis” Lighthouse of Mykonos. The building of the lighthouse is an octagonal stone tower overlooking the strait between the island of Mykonos and Tinos. It is located on a height of 19 meters and its focal plane is 184 m. with a white flash every ten seconds.
