Tram ride along the coastal road of Athens
16-01-2015 11:39The tram is an interesting and pleasant way of crossing the Athens city down to its southern coastal suburbs. During summer it's the most popular means of transport due to the fact that both Greeks and foreigners use it to reach both the well organized or the non organized beaches of south Attica. Carefree and with the safety of fixed tracks, one can enjoy the route from Faliro to Voula.
The tram's coastal route begins in Faliro, from the "Stadio Irinis & Filias" (Peace and Friendship Stadium). It terminates in Voula, at the Asklipieio Hospital. In between, it has 30 stops down the entire coastal road. Indeed, it serves all the southern suburbs, such as Kallithea, Nea Smyrni, Palio Faliro, Alimos, Elliniko, Glyfada, providing a unique opportunity for a pleasant tour.
By choosing the tram, you can enjoy a walk or swim at Flisvos, Bati, Edem, Alimos, Kalamaki or Agios Kosmas. You can drink your coffee at Trocadero or in the popular square of Glyfada. The marina of Alimos is the perfect point for walks, while the Sailing Center is offered for race watching.
See the best of coastal Athens through the easiest, cheapest and most fun way! Get to know the suburbs of Athens city that lay right by the blue waters of Saronic Gulf. Enjoy!
