Just 25 km from the city of Arta is our Greek "Polynesia", a picturesque village that is surrounded by the Amvrakikos bay. Beyond the natural environment and the beauties of the region, it is worth taking a moment to visit the Byzantine church of Panagia Koronissia dating back to the 7th century and refers to a rare type of cruciform semi-dome-shaped temple.
On June 12, the locals honor the patron saint of the area, Osios Onoufrios, who lived in a monastery on the island of Koronissia, while Virgin Mary is celebrated on 8 September.
