The charming village of Neos Agios Athanasios is built on the foothills of Mount Vora on 750 meters altitude, just 6 km far from the village of Palios Agios Athanasios. It was built in 1980 when the relocation of the residents at a lower altitude decided for their safety because of geological transformations underneath the village of Palios Agios Athanasios. Nowadays it is an important tourist destination with many restaurants, cafes, bars, taverns, guesthouses and hotels to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
