Edipsos is one of the most famous cities of Evia. Edipsos is famous since antiquity for its natural thermal springs with healing properties, but is also famous in recent years as one of the most cosmopolitan spa resorts. History of Edipsos

According to mythology, the goddess Athena asked Hephaestus to create the warm spa for hero Hercules, so that after each feat he could go there and rest. Hephaestus did so for his sister’s sake and he struck with a hammer the land up welling the thermal baths of Edipsos. Now there are more than 80 springs where the temperature ranges from 28 °C to 86 °C. The healing properties of these sources treat effectively various diseases and add physical and mental wellbeing.

 

How to get to Edipsos

The access is very easy because Edipsos is only 151 km far from Athens. It is a two and a half hour ride from Athens and three and a half hour from Thessaloniki.
