Mikri Vigla

Naxos

Info

General

The beach of Mikri Vigla is located in the southwest part of Naxos and is considered one of the most beautiful of the Aegean. It is sandy and stretches for about one kilometer, while the water is clear blue and deepens sequentially. Mikri Vigla beach is organized and has umbrellas and sunbeds, so it is ideal for relaxing, swimming and sunbathing, while there are many people who admire the sea bottom through diving.

A hill divides Mikri Vigla from the adjacent equally beautiful beach, which enables the visitor to always swim in calm waters, depending on the side where the wind blows. Historically, the hill is considered Observatory for pirates, having allowed the locals to control maritime traffic over a wide area.

On the north side of Mikri Vigla Beach one finds "Virgin", a small bay 650 m., known for its winds that create the best conditions for waters sports, and especially kite and windsurfing.

Getting to

To reach the beach of Mikri Vigla move through the peripheral road of Naxos, which begins from the port of the island and crosses the villages Glinado, Biblos and outside Agios Arsenios.
Alternatively, it is possible to arrive towards Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna and Plaka, but this is not recommended, because the road connecting these beaches with Mikri Vigla is not in good condition.
