The village of Panagitsa is situated at an altitude of 700 m on the foothills of Mount Voras (Kaimaktsalan) on the way from the city of Edessa to the ski center. In recent years Panagitsa has been developed as an alternative tourism center with many hotels mainly because of the small airport used for gliders and parachute divers, considered to be weather-wise one of the best ones in Europe. There is also a motto-cross track and a small ski center with artificial snow.
