The village of Koukouli is located near the southern tip of the Vikos Gorge and the National Park of Vikos-Aoos. It was formed as a settlement in the 13th or 14th century and in the 18th and 19th century has seen great economic prosperity as the locals dealt with trade. There are hotels and restaurants in the village of Koukouli which is one of the villages of the Zagorohoria cluster.
