Kakanarakis has been operating since 1986, as a traditional taven in the beginning with authentic Greek cuisine and then, after its recent renovation, with an enriched menu of Mediterranean cuisine.
The basic philosophy of the owners is to offer the best quality products to those who choose their restaurant for a memorable dining experience. Everdy day they seek to find pure materials to prepare dishes of rich taste, that will satisfy demanding palates.
The menu includes the traditional Greek "mousaka" and stuffed vegetables on daily basis, along with some other cooked dishes like lamb, rabbit stew, "giouvetsi", chicken with noodles, pork with honey and thyme and many more. Depending on the season, you wil also taste some fish and seafood such as anchovies, seabass, salmon etc.
We tasted and we definitely suggest you should try the famous handmade burger. Whether made of beef or of turkey, it is sure to satisfy you with its flavor. It is actually the reason why so many people visit Kakanarakis Restaurant! Once you taste it, you want more!
The restaurant's wine list includes local labels from the region of Nemea and some bottles from wineries of Northern Greece. It is worth tasting the owners' unbottled wine, red or white, which is produced in their own estate and is of excellent quality.
As for the beautiful and elegant environment? Do not let it make you think that this restaurant is expensive. The prices remain stable since 2008, despite the VAT changes of the last years in Greece, and are really affordable!
