Not to mention the Hollywood productions that have "borrowed" elements of Greek mythology. The heroes of Ancient Greece have inspired famous producers who made incredible movies based on their lives and adventures. The "Troy" for example or the "300" are listed among the greatest successes...
Leto, the mother of Apollo and Artemis
Leto (or Latona) was the daughter of the Titans Coeus and Phoebe and the mother of two of the Olympian Gods, Apollo and Artemis, children of Zeus. Leto, though, met difficulties to find a place to give birth to the twins as Hera persecuted her wherever she went.

Odyssey
Odyssey is the second epic poem written by Homer narrating the adventures of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, during his way from Troy to his homeland, after the end of the Trojan War. The narration starts at the point where Odysseus is at the island of Kalypso and in the meantime suitors for his loyal wife Penelope have flocked in the royal palace.

Atalanta, an independent female
Two separate provinces, Arcadia and Boeotia, claimed the origin of Atalanta, an Amazonian heroine. In the Boeotian version Atalanta was a daughter of Schoineus, son of Athamas, while in the Arcadian was a daughter of Iasos.
