Did you know that Greece has ski resorts that remind of other european ones in Austria or France? There are many winter destinations is Macedonia, Epirus, Peloponnese, Central Greece that have well organized ski centers, with remarkable infrastructure, ideal for those who love winter sports such as skiing and snowboard. These ski centers are always close to villages and resorts that offer incredible accommodation (luxurious hotels, guest houses, chalets etc), this is why they're preferred not only by Greeks, but also by international tourists.
Despite the fact that Greece enjoys a great fame as a summer destination, due to its numerous islands, the truth is that it's a mountainous country. And although the summer is hot enough, the winter is quite cold. The snow "pays a visit" every year at the Greek mountain slopes, making them much prettier. The ski centers of the country begin to operate from November (when the first snow begins to fall) and close in spring, thus meaning that tourists have months of fun and activities at the snow.

Aktaion - Writing gastronomic history since 1922
Like a relay race of three generations; a journey with happy days, sad days, joys, sorrows, wars, Occupation, poverty, hunger, deaths, volcanic eruptions, catastrophic earthquakes, flee for a better life, return, better days, feasts, tourism explosion, financial crises and so on… Everything has been indelibly inscribed on the walls of this small building, Aktaion. I feel grateful that life has given me the opportunity to hold the reins of Aktaion all the way to its centennial.
Astakas restaurant and the Statue of Poseidon in Milos.
The statue of Poseidon, made of Parian marble, was found in 1877 on Milos island, along with a statue of his mate, Amphitrite. The larger than life-size statue depicts the god almost nude, wearing a himation covering the lower part of the body. In his raised right hand he will have held the trident. Next to his right leg is a support in the form of a dolphin. Today, the statue is exhibited at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens city.

The Marmita Restaurant is now a part of the history of Santorini, since it has been operating in Megalochori since 2004. From 2013 it s been running under the observation of new owner Giannis Manikas and the sense of renewal is obvious.
