Greece - Greek Islands
Greece has an extremely big number of islands, especially considering the total extent of the country, with estimates ranging from somewhere around 1.200 to 6000, depending of course on the minimum size to take into account. Almost 200 of them are inhabited, but all of them -without exception- are of incredible beauty.
The two largest are those of Crete and Euboea, while Rhodes and Lesbos come next. Traditionally, the Greek islands are grouped into the following clusters: the Saronic islands (Argosaronikos Gulf is the one close to Attica and Athens city), the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, the North Aegean islands, the Sporades and the Ionian islands.
A travel to Greece and its idyllic summer paradises includes strong experiences on splendid beaches and clear blue or green waters. It's hard to see the most of them as you'll need much time, but you can get a quite good idea of their natural beauty and Greek hospitality by combining a few visits to a couple or a little bit more of these islands. It's not a coinsidence that Greek islands are listed among the world's most famous destinations...
