Description of Epidaurus
Epidavros was famed and revered as far away as Rome as a place of miraculous healing, thanks to the healing practices offered in the Sanctuary of Asclepius, god of medicine. Today attracts visitors for its amazingly well-preserved ancient theatre, where classical Greek theatre along with modern plays, opera and music are performed every year during the Athens-Epidaurus Festival. Epidaurus is protected as World Heritage Monument. Apart from cultural events, in the modern town of Epidavros there are hotels and studios offering accommodation and restaurants as there is also a lovely beach in short distance.

Follow the Athens - Corinth highway and turn to Epidaurus following the signs after the Corinthian Isthmus.
