Athens Half-Day city tour

If you spend a day or two in Athens, with a half – day sightseeing and Acropolis museum tour, you can see all the famous sites of ancient and modern city.

The tour begins with a photo stop at Panathinaiko Stadium (Panathenaic Stadium) where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. The stadium is built of white marble and it is very beautiful.
Next you will see the Temple of Olympian Zeus in Zappeion, then the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens and the National Library.
After those, you will pass by the National Garden, Hadrian’s Arch, St. Paul’s Church, the Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown soldier, the Numismatic Museum, the Catholic Cathedral , the Old Parliament, the Syntagma Square and finally Acropolis.
You will have the chance to visit Propylae, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Parthenon and Erechtheion.
A short walk with your guide will show you the Herodion and Dionysus Theater and you will reach the Acropolis Museum.
When you are in a group you avoid the lines to get in. The main attractions are the statues from archaic period, Caryatids, the Parthenon hall and the pediments.

Like a relay race of three generations; a journey with happy days, sad days, joys, sorrows, wars, Occupation, poverty, hunger, deaths, volcanic eruptions, catastrophic earthquakes, flee for a better life, return, better days, feasts, tourism explosion, financial crises and so on… Everything has been indelibly inscribed on the walls of this small building, Aktaion. I feel grateful that life has given me the opportunity to hold the reins of Aktaion all the way to its centennial.
