Athens Tram
13-12-2012 10:56The Athens Tram has been operating since July 2004.
The routes of the tram are 3:- "Thukididis" 3: SEF (Irinis kai Filias Stadium) - Asklipiio Voula
- "Aristotelis" 4: Syntagma - SEF
- "Platonas" 5: Syntagma - Asklipiio Voula
The tram operates daily from 05:30 am to 01:00 am, while on Fridays and Saturdays it operates 24 hours during the Summer (01/06 - 31/09) and approximately from 05:30 to 02:30 during the Winter (01/10 - 31/05).
There are the following connections with other means of transportation:
At the SEF terminal station with the ISAP electric train (line 1, "green" line)
At the Neos Kosmos station and FIX with the Metro (line 2, "red" line)
At the Syntagma station with the Metro (Lines 2 and 3, "red" and "blue")
Tickets:
The ticket rate is 1,40 euro. It's valid for multiple trips on all public transport options in any direction (except for the airport) for up to 90 minutes. The reduced ticket costs 0,70 euro. Non validation brings a penalty of 60 times the price of the ticket. You can buy tickets at all stations from selling offices or automatic vending machines.
