The daily Greek breakfast includes homemade jams, croissants and pastries. Amorgian cuisine with locally produced organic ingredients and Greek wines are served at Ambrosia Restaurant. The Aegialis Hotel is located just 1 km from the port of Aegiali. A bus stop is right outside of the Hotel.
Irene and Nikitas Giannakopoulou, the owners of Aegialis Hotel & Spa are both from Amorgos and grew up there. Irene’s father was one of the first to build rooms to rent when Amorgos was still totally isolated and he transmitted her their passion for tourism .
After a stay of a few years in America, Irene and Nikitas decided to go back to their beloved island and to realize their dream: promote the beauty of Amorgos and open a hotel that combines both traditional amorgian architecture and spirit in a simple but yet elegant setting.
When the road to Tholaria village started being built, Nikitas and Irene found the perfect spot and seized the opportunity. After two years of important and difficult work, Aegialis Hotel opened in 1992.
In 2008, Aegialis Hotel developed itself and opened the biggest thalassotherapy centre of the Cyclades, “The Lalon Idor Thalasso Spa & Beauty Centre”.Facilities

FAMILY SUITE
Recently remade, the Family Suite is ideal for family vacations and is the best choice for a couple with two children or even with a third in a baby cot. The master bedroom and the children's room are separated with a small hall which ensures the couple's privacy. The recent remake of the bathroom provides more space to the guests and a few extra characteristics to it like a Jacuzzi shower with the option of a steam bath.The couple can enjoy a bottle of wine at ease while the kids are sleeping, as each room has its own balcony overlooking the bay of Aegiali and the harbour.The children's bedroom has two normal size single beds, which can alternatively host two adults.- Air-conditioning

HONEYMOON SUITE
Essentially a small flat providing the privacy and romantic setting for newlyweds or those who wish to remain in their own exclusive suite, the Presidential – Honeymoon suite is the best Aegialis hotel & spa has to offer.
Handmade forged iron beds, classic line furniture, designers’ linens, 42’’ TV set and a 32’’ in the lounge area, mini high-fi system, a master bathroom with view of the Aegean Sea plus a second bathroom for visitors or companions are a few of the indoor characteristics.The suite also has two independent balconies with full privacy and a patio with a sitting area, sun chairs and entertainment set so one can enjoy every minute of the stay.
Alternatively this suite can be booked by two couples or up to two children, by transforming the living room to a second bedroom.

Our green policies and procedures include the following:- Energy saving light bulbs are used throughout the hotel
- Guests are encouraged to participate in our green policies by re-using their towels, if they wish to do so, having sheets changed less often, and not to use water in a wasteful manner
- Aegialis Hotel recycles water, and uses it for gardens.
- Our hot water boilers, cylinders & pumps operate only on demand and are therefore extremely efficient. Solar water heaters are used for hot water.
- All staff are trained in environmentally friendly initiatives such as switching lights off in rooms not in use and avoiding using water in a wasteful manner.
- Where possible, environmentally friendly cleaning products are used.
- Our delivery requirements are half of those of a traditional hotel, and orders are consolidated, where possible, to reduce transportation costs.
Location
Aegialis Hotel & Spa is located in the north part of Amorgos Island, nearby the port of Aegiali.Standing on a hillside overlooking the lovely bay of Aegiali, Aegialis Hotel & Spa offers a breathtaking view into the deep blue of the Aegean and to the surrounding islands of Nikouria, Donousa and Koufounisia.
Between the main sandy beach of Aegiali and the beach of Levroso, Aegialis hotel is a maximum 7-10 minutes walk away from the crystal clear waters of Aegiali bay.
The overall location of the hotel is so unique that it will amaze any visitor at first sight.As it is a kilometer away from the Aegiali port it makes it a pleasant walk if you choose to take a stroll to the town or a two minutes drive with a car.
A bus stop is conveniently located right outside of the hotel, making the transportation for the guests easy. Taxi cabs are to your doorstep so you don't necessarily need any wheels of your own, also scooters and cars are available to rent.Amorgos Island is a remarkably unspoiled island at the south Eastern edge of the Cycladic group. It is an island where traditional customs are still inextricably interwoven into a landscape as rich in its beauty as in its history.MEANS OF TRANSPORT
BUS
During summertime, there is a bus service going nearly all over the island. The bus service between Katapola-Chora-Aegiali is frequent, and so between Aegiali and the surrounding villages. It is less frequent for the south part of the island which is much more isolated.Timetables are changing every year.
You can ask them at the reception desk of Aegialis Hotel & Spa at your arrival but can also find them in the main bus stations, in supermarkets or the restaurants. The fairs are between 1 and 3 Euros.

For the last few years, a taxi service has been implanted in Amorgos. Aegialis Hotel & Spa can call or reserve a taxi for you anytime of the day. You can also find them in the main villages and ports.
HOW TO COME?FROM ATHENS
We suggest visitors should arrive one day earlier in Athens or book a flight arriving before 14.00 so that they be at the port on time – ferries leave at 17.30.There is one daily connection to Amorgos Island (except on Saturday during winter) from Piraeus port, Athens.Ferries dock alternately at the two ports of Amorgos Island: Katapola and Aegiali (closest to the hotel)All options for your transfer from Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos to the port of Piraeus:Private transfer: on request.- Bus: Express bus X96 leaves every 20 minutes during the day and every 40 minutes at night from the Airport’s Arrivals Level (between Doors 4 and 5) to “Karaiskaki Square” in Piraeus, right outside the ferry harbor. The ticket costs 5.00€. The trip takes from about 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and a half.
- Metro: The subway will take you from the airport to the terminal, at Monastiraki station. There you will change to line 1 (green line). The end of line 1 is Piraeus station, just outside the entrance to the ferry harbor. The journey time from Athens International Airport to the harbor of Piraeus is about one hour. Trains are every half an hour (:00 and :30) with the first one leaving the airport at 05:30 and the last one at 23:30.
- Taxi: This is the most hassle-free way. Duration 45 to 60 minutes.
FROM NAXOS
You may take a taxi outside of the Airport of Naxos Island to Chora (also known as Naxos Town), about 1km away. The ferry trip from Naxos to Amorgos – one or two daily connections – will last 2 to 5 hours.FROM SANTORINI
During summer season, it is possible to fly to Santorini, from where there are daily high speed vessel connections to Amorgos.
