One of the main reasons why tourists choose Greece for their holidays is of course its long history and civilization. The sites of interest are innumerable, indeed. The National Library of Greece is part of the famous architectural trilogy designed by the Danish architect Theophil Freiherr von Hanse. It is located in the centre of Athens on the corner of Panepistimiou and Ippokratous street, across to the Panepistimio metro station.

Change of the Presidential Guard
The Change of the Presidential Guard takes place every Sunday morning in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier which can be seen in front of the Greek Parliament across Syntagma Square. It is a ceremonial practice rich in folklore features like traditional costumes, music played by the band and army rituals which is worth watching.

Plaka... by day and night
Plaka is the oldest neighborhood in Athens and one of the nicest. Although it used to be a hot spot full of night clubs in the past, the government banned the loud music and the neighborhood became much more pretty and traditional, ideal for walks.
