Description of Koryschades
Koryschades is a traditional settlement with lots of old mansions, surrounded by fir trees. The village provides tourist infrastructure with hotels and restaurants of modern building in perfect harmony with the traditional local architecture. The visitors of Koryschades admire the natural beauty of the village surrounded by dense fir forests, streams with plane trees and nightingales. The village is also well-known for its history, after here it took place, on 14th May 1944, the “National Council of Free Greece”. Nowadays the school of the village is the Museum of National Resistance, dedicated to the struggles of the locals against the German invasion.
How to get to Koryschades
Koryschades is 285 km far from Athens, 380 km far from Thessaloniki and 5 km far from Karpenisi. Starting from Athens take the Athens- Thessaloniki highway, pass by the city of Lamia and follow the signs to Karpenisi and then to Koryschades. You will need approximately 4 hours driving from Athens and 5 hours from Thessaloniki.
