Kalavrita Ski Center
28-01-2015 13:46The ski resort in Kalavrita is the second largest in the country and one of the most popular reference points for snow-sports in the Peloponnese. It is a mere 77km from Patras and approximately 200km from Athens.
It is located 14km from the town of Kalavrita, on Mount Chelmos in the area of Vathia Lakka at an altitude ranging from 1650m to 2340m facing northwest. It is easy to get to and has well-planned lifts and ski runs varying in degrees of difficulty for skiers of all levels.
More specifically, it has 12 runs varying in difficulty with an adequate amount of snow and sign-posting covering a total distance of 20km.
Skiers can get to the slopes by means of three lifts. Stiga is the longest slope in Greece and its level of difficulty makes the experienced skier soar.
At the ski resort there are also shops where you can rent or buy skiing equipment, training centres, restaurants, outdoor cafes, naturally a first aid centre and a spacious parking area.
