The process of Tunisian Independence occurred from 1952 to 1956 between France and a separatist movement led by Habib Bourguiba.Bourguiba became the first President of the Republic of Tunisia after negotiations with France successfully brought an end to the colonial protectorate leading to independence.
On Tuesday the 20th of March
Tunisia celebrated the 62nd anniversary of its independence, with various celebrations taking place all over the country. In
Athens, a
great reception took place at the Tunisian
Embassy and many diplomats, businessmen and journalists were there to celebrate
after the invitation of Ambassador Dr Lassaad M'hirsi.
Mr
Fotis Karidas, CEO of Touristorama.com was among the guests. He had time to discuss with the Ambassador as well as Mr
Mohamed Bachar, who was for years the Embassy's Director of Tourism Office in Athens, about the safety of Tunisia as a travel destination, that even though it suffered the last few years, it returned in 2017 with a
record in incoming visitors!
The successful event closed with local delicacies.
